Effingham County Chamber of Commerce and the Newton Power Plant came together to host a Recruitment Open House at the power plant. The open house was put on for power plant employees who will be dislocated due the half the plant’s closure in October.
Local Chamber members along with Chamber Workforce Development Coordinator JoAnn Sasse Givens attended to open house to present information about their industries to plant employees. It was also a chance for plant employees to network with area businesses.
Members in attendance at the open house were Prudential Financial- Matt Roedl, HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Stevens Industries, Joint Active Systems/Bonutti Research, B&L Machine and Design, Air Stamping, Inc., Heartland Dental, Hodgson Mill, CEFS, and The Equity.
