Below are results from September 6th:
SOFTBALL
CHBC VS. PATOKA
CHBC Softball got the win against Patoka in the final regular season game, 5-4. CHBC scored a run in the fourth and 4 runs in the fifth. Patoka scored twice in the bottom of the seventh but it wasn’t enough. CHBC end the regular season with a 9-8 record.
BASEBALL
ST. ANTHONY VS. CHBC
St. Anthony Baseball got the win against CHBC by a score of 10-0. Adam Levitt got the win going 6 innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 14. St. Anthony also got a home run from Utz.
ALTAMONT VS. SS/W
Altamont Junior High Baseball were able to get the win against Stew-Stras/Windsor 16-0 in four innings. Altamont pitcher Winn threw a no hitter. Altamont also got a home run from Baucum. The win now improves to 6-9 on the season. Altamont plays Thursday at Sigel.
GOLF
ST. ANTHONY MEN’S GOLF
St. Anthony Men’s Golf got the match win against Okaw Valley and Shelbyville to improve to 3-0 on the season. St. Anthony had a team score of 155, Okaw Valley was second with a 174, and Shelbyville finished third with a 188. Decatur LSA’s Cremer had the low score with a 35. St. Anthony had two golfers, Ludwig and Ferguson, who scored a 36. St. Anthony next match is at the Mattoon Invitational this Friday and Saturday.
TENNIS
ST. ANTHONY VS. HILLSBORO
St. Anthony was able to get the win against Hillsboro in Girls Tennis 9-0. St. Anthony won all 6 single and 3 doubles games. St. Anthony will have their next match on Thursday. St. Anthony JV Tennis also got the win against Hillsboro 4-0.
TEUTOPOLIS VS. VANDALIA
Teutopolis Girls Tennis improved to 2-0 on the season with a 8-1 win against Vandalia. Teutopolis was able to win 5 out of 6 singles matches and won all 3 doubles matches.
EFFINGHAM VS. CHARLESTON
Effingham Girls Tennis were able to get the win against Charleston 7-2. Effingham were able to win 5 our of 6 singles matches and 2 out of 3 doubles matches.
VOLLEYBALL
ALTAMONT VS. NORTH CLAY
Altamont JV and Varsity Volleyball were able to get wins against North Clay. JV got the win in two sets with scores of 25-13 and 25-22. The win improves the JV team to 2-1. The Varsity team got the win in two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-11. The win now improves the record to 3-4.
EFFINGHAM PARK DISTRICT FLAG FOOTBALL
MARTIN’S IGA JETS VS. SDS FALCONS
In game number one the Jets were able to beat the Falcons 25-12. The Jets scored in the first quarter on a 19 yard TD pass. The Falcons were able to score in the second quarter on a 10 yard TD run to tie the game at 6. The Jets were able to score before the end of the first half on a 5 yard TD pass to make it 13-6 Jets at halftime. The Falcons scored in the third on a 33 yard TD run however the Jets were able to score on a 21 yard TD pass. The Jets were able to get one last score in the fourth quarter on a 20 yard TD run to make it 25-12.
In game number two the Falcons were able to get the win against the Jets 31-0. The Falcons scored 13 points in the first quarter on a 32 yard TD run and a 30 yard interception return for a TD. The Falcons added another 12 points in the second quarter on a 20 yard TD pass and a 22 yard TD run. The Falcons scored 6 points in the third on a 31 yard rushing TD.
ADHATTERS RAIDERS VS. EFFINGHAM MONUMENT CO. COWBOYS
The Cowboys were able to get the win against the Raiders 14-6. The first score of the game came in the second quarter on a 39 yard punt return for a TD for the Raiders. The Raiders took a 6-0 lead at halftime. The Cowboys scored in the third on a 3 yard TD run and a 2 point conversion to take a 8-6 lead after three quarters. The Raiders and Cowboys each had 2 interceptions in the fourth quarter. The Cowboys were able to score another TD on a 36 yard run.
MERZ HEATING & AIR BENGALS VS. EFFINGHAM MONUMENT CO. COWBOYS
The Bengals were able to defeat the Cowboys 25-19. The Cowboys got on the board first with a 3 yard TD run and the PAT to take a 7-0 lead. The Bengals came back with a 28 yard TD run to make it 7-6 after the first quarter. Neither team scored in the second but the Cowboys did get two interceptions in the quarter. The Bengals scored twice in the third quarter on a 20 yard and 50 yard TD. The Cowboys scored in the third quarter on a 10 yard TD run to make it 18-13 Bengals after three quarters. The Cowboys scored in the fourth on a 12 yard TD pass to make it 19-18 but the Bengals scored on a 30 yard kickoff return and a PAT to make it 25-19.
