21-year-old Misty D. Henson, of Richland County, was arrested Monday for DUI, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and three counts of Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer.
In a press release from Thursday, Jasper County State’s Attorney Chad A. Miller said that after an investigation into a DUI complaint in Jasper County, Henson became violent with police, kicking two separate officers and later spitting in one’s face. Hansen was also allegedly in possession of Oxycodone, a controlled substance, without a prescription. Her bond was set $150,000 10%, meaning that Henson would need to both pay the bond and comply with certain conditions to be released.
“Acts of physical violence against law enforcement, no matter how great or small, can not be tolerated,” said Miller. “I take protection and safety of our local law enforcement officers very seriously, and charges and bond settings continue to reflect that.”
Aggravated Battery to Police officer is Class 2 Felony with a maximum 3-7 year sentence.
