The Cubs completed the three game sweep of the Padres with a 6-3 win.
The Cubs got on the board in the first with a Zobrist two run triple followed by a Soler sacrifice fly to make it 3-0. The Padres scored in the second on a Wallace sacrifice fly to make it 3-1. The Padres got another run in the third on a Myers RBI triple to make it 3-2. The Cubs scored two runs on an error in the sixth to make it 5-2. The Cubs added another run in the seventh on a Contreras solo home run. The Padres were able to score a run in the eighth on a Schimpf RBI double to make it 6-3.
Hendricks got the win improving to 12-7 on the season. Hendricks gave up 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 8 and walking 2 over 6 innings. Clemens took the loss falling to 2-3 on the year. Clemens gave up 5 runs on 7 hits while striking out 6 over 5 and 1/3 innings.
The Cubs open a series with the Dodgers starting Friday at 9:10.
