The Illinois State Police (ISP) District 12 have released enforcement figures from July. District 12 consists of Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, and Richland Counties. During the month the ISP answered 277 calls for service and initiated 1,604 incidents in the field.
July’s enforcement figures totaled 879 citations and 635 written warnings, including 497 speeding citations, 23 DUIs. 82 seat belt citations, 10 child restraint citations, 248 written warnings for speeding, and 47 criminal arrests. Additionally, Troopers also assisted 283 motorists, conducted 253 motor carrier inspections, and investigated 71 crashes. There were two fatal crashes in July.
511 citations and 279 warnings were issued for the “Fatal Four” violations which include speeding, DUI, Failure to wear a Seat Belt, and Distracted Driving. These violations are most associated with fatal accidents.
