In an effort to help more adults without a high school diploma, the TASC high school equivalency test will be offered in a paper form, by the Regional Office of Education For Effingham and surrounding counties in Hillboro, beginning in September. TASC is recognized by the State of Illinois and assesses the five subjects areas of: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The test also measures an individual’s readiness for college and the workforce.
The TASC test will be held on the first and third Fridays of the month at the Regional Office of Education #3 in Hillboro, starting on Friday, September 16th. This will be the pencil and paper format of the test. For a computer-based test, the GED test is available in various locations, including Springfield, Centralia, and Mattoon. Testing locations can be found at www.GED.com.
Passing the TASC test will provide an individual a high school equivalency diploma from the State of Illinois, same as the GED test.
