The Newton City Council met on Tuesday, August 16th.
The Council approved in an unanimous decision to increase the dog catcher’s salary by $1,000. The City of Newton is responsible for half of the increase. A motion was also made authorizing the dog catcher to attend a two-day training in Effingham; and the City will pay for half.
Two motions were approved for Ken Larimore to attend conferences; a $350 plus expenses ITIA conference on September 14-15 and a $310 plus expenses IML conference on September 22-24. A motion was also made to approve NewWave’s franchising extension. Admendments to two Indiana Railroad Permits that were issued in June 2015 were approved, also.
The Newton City Council will meet again on September 6th at 6:00pm.
