Effingham Mayor Jeff Bloemker will hold a Recycling Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, August 24th beginning at 6 pm in the Effingham City Council Chambers. The topic will be “Recycling Efforts: Past, Present, and Future.”
“This topic has been a nagging issue for this community for many years,” said Mayor Bloemker. “Personally, I hate it when I drag my garbage can out to the curb every week and it’s half full of plastic jugs, bottles, and newspapers. I’ve been approached by countless citizens to bring Effingham into progressive times with a recycling program. However, I’ve found this objective is much easier said than done. I invite concerned citizens and parties to come up to City Hall on August 24th and join me in kicking this issue around vigorously.”
