The Lake Land College Foundation recognized 20 lifetime donors at their annual Donor Recognition Dinner. According to Lake Land President Josh Bullock, the Foundation received nearly $3.5 in cash, grants, and planned gifts in the past year.
The Lake Land Foundation provides scholarships for deserving to students to assist them in achieving their education. During the past 24 years, the Foundation has awarded more 85,00 scholarships totaling around $5.4.
Recognized for the highest level of giving, The Trustee’s Guild Level for contributions of $25,000 and above was Larry and Brenda Blackerby; Lake Land College Student Life – Tina Stovall; Wells Fargo Advisers – Gary Swearingen; and Yargus Manufacturing – Meg Yargus.
Recognized at the Educator’s Guild Level for contributions of $10,000 and above were Tim Gover; Roger and Janet Mead; and Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation – Tim Ols.
Those recognized at the Scholar’s Club Level, for contributions of $5,000 and above were Drs. Stanley and Nanci Huels, Jim Hull and Tom and Salisa Olmsted.
Bullock said that the Foundation and its donors are essential to the college and higher education in general as the state continues to reduce funding. He went on to say that many students commute to class and have other financial burdens. “The selfless gifts provided by the donors allow students access to building brighter futures and stronger communities through education. For that, I want to extend my sincere gratitude.”
