WAND TV Chief Meteorologist JC Fultz will be at the Walgreens in Effingham from 3:30pm-6:30pm tomorrow (Thursday, April 28). Fultz will be programming NOAA Weather Radios.
Kim Tegeler with the Effingham Emergency Management Agency stopped by the studio to talk with Tom Jamison about the safety benefits of having a weather radio. Press play below to hear the full interview.
Anyone with a new or used weather radio is welcome to bring it by the store to make sure it is programmed correctly and is fully operational. There is no cost to have a radio programmed. Weather radios can also be purchased at the event.
Along with weather warnings, the radios broadcast warnings and post-event information for all types of hazards, including natural, environmental and public safety hazards, such as earthquakes, chemical spills and AMBER alerts.
