Senate President John Cullerton is no longer proposing a plan to tax Illinois motorists on how many miles they drive. The Chicago Democrat announced he won’t move forward with the bill this spring. Under the proposal, drivers would have been charged by tracking their mileage. Cullerton said the revenue collected would have helped pay for repairs on the roadways.
