The Illinois State Police have announced their activity and enforcement figures for the month of March in District 12. Troopers in District 12, which includes Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, and Richland Counties, answered 161 calls for service and initiated 1567 incidents in the field.
In addition, there were 1091 citations and 849 written warnings in March, including 522 speeding citations, 17 DUIs, and 51 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 163 motorists, conducted 343 Motor Carrier Inspections, and investigated 58 traffic crashes. There were two fatal crash investigated during the month.
697 citations and 303 written warnings were issued for “Fatal Four” violations last month. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
