Scott A. Rohlfing, 56 of Effingham, passed away at 11:48 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at H.S.H.S. St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with Tom Fish, officiating. Entombment will take place in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until time of service, Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Illinois.
Scott was born February 26, 1960 in Murphysboro, the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Welp) Rohlfing. He was a member of First Christian Church in Carmi, affiliated with Effingham Assembly of God and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Throughout Scott’s lifetime, he touched and inspired many lives with his positive outlook on life, despite the many physical challenges he faced.
Scott is survived by his parents of Campbell Hill; four brothers, Michael (Linda) of Atlanta, GA, David of Campbell Hill, Neil (Phyllis) of Effingham and Brad (Carolyn) of Effingham; sister, Jeanne Piatt of Houston, TX; sister-in-law, Debra Rohlfing of Ava; twelve nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews also survive.
