State Representative David Reis, who represents the local 109th district, is sponsoring legislation in the Illinois House which makes re-appropriations from the School Construction Fund and the Capital Development Fund for ongoing school construction and improvements for fiscal year 2016.
As the bill passed out of Executive Committee on Thursday, Representative Reis said that part of the collateral damage of the state not having a budget this year is the school construction grants were not given appropriation authority. This bill will rectify that problem.
The measure now heads to the full House for their consideration.
