The Workman Sports and Wellness Complex has been opened for just over two months, and so far the early membership numbers have been very positive. The Effingham Park Board was updated on the early month totals at the Complex at their recent monthly meeting. The Sports Complex currently has 3,425 individual members across 1,097 memberships. The difference in individual members and memberships is because of the family plan that the facility offers.
The Park Board was also updated on the financials at the facility. From December 1st through April 6th the Complex has a revenue total of $382,310. During the two months in that time frame that the Complex was open, revenue was over $100,000 each month.
The Board was also updated on “change orders” made at the facility. In total, change orders have cost an additional $47,000. Park Board President David McDevitt said he considered this to be a very favorable number for a project the size of the Sports Complex. He also noted that some of the changes were required by state departments, while others will be reimbursed.
Park Director Jeff Althoff also updated the fundraising progress for the upcoming all-inclusive Harmony Park. At this time over $100,000 of the $700,000 goal has been raised.
