Chief Judge Michael D. McHaney, on behalf of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, has made an announcement regarding his intention to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of National Court Reporting & Captioning Week, which runs through February 20th. McHaney said that the courtroom professionals honored during this week are vital in the preparation of official written transcripts of all courtroom proceedings.
Additionally, these court reporters in the Fourth Circuit are valuable members of the court who work diligently to preserve court records. McHaney calls them impartial, reliable, dedicated, and outstanding individuals who strive for accuracy and accountability.
The Fourth Judicial Circuit in Illinois covers nine counties, including Effingham, Clay, Fayette, Jasper, Marion, and Shelby. In total there are nine court reporters in the circuit.
