Three Effingham High School wrestlers competed over the weekend at the 2A Sectional at Mahomet Seymour. Tyler Marschewski wrestled in the 145 pound weight class. Marschewski was pinned in his first match by Rio Beals of Champaign Central. He was then eliminated when he fell 1-17 to East St. Louis’ James Harrell.
Brandon Marcshewski competed in the 132 pound weight class. He won his opening match 4-3 against Titus Anderson of Decatur Macarthur. He lost his second match by pin to Troy Triad’s Marik Fulton. Marcshewski then won by pin over Paul Seitz of Rochester. He was eliminated in his next match, falling to Riverton’s Noah Foreman.
EHS’s Griffin Paige also wrestled at the Sectional. He was in the 182 pound weight class. Paige won his opener by pin over Waterloo’s Kory Schaefer. He was eliminated after losses to Mahomet Seymour’s Hunter Crowler and Decatur Eisenhower’s Matt Baher.
