State Senator Dale Righter has announced that he will seek reelection. Righter will look to remain senator of the local 55th district, which includes 14 counties.
“There is much work to be done in this state,” Righter said, “work to balance our budgets, achieve government solvency, and create economic prosperity.”
Righter has long been opposed to the unbalanced budgets that have been presented by the state’s democratic legislature and House Speaker Michael Madigan.
“It defies common sense, violates the Illinois Constitution, and constitutes a betrayal of our children and grandchildren’s interests to spend more than what is available in tax revenue,” Righter said.
Righter has a record of sponsoring and voting for reforms to improve Illinois’ economy and increase job growth.
Righter has also expressed a desire to place a question about term limits in Illinois on the ballot in 2016.
