The Effingham County Economic Development Advisory Board Tuesday continued last month’s discussion about finding potential new applicants. The original $12,0oo has been distributed, but with loans being paid back the fund is approaching $11,000. The idea behind the loan program is to help local businesses expand, while allowing the retention and creation of employment opportunities.
The Board also met with Holli Sarchet, the owner of Holli’s Flour Shop. The bakery is one of the six recipients of a loan from the revolving loan program. Sarchet gave the Board an update on how her business is doing. The Board hopes to bring in a loan recipient each month to provide these updates.
