An Effingham man was injured Saturday in a three-vehicle accident. The accident occurred at 5:19pm north of the intersection of 3rd Street and Interstate 57/70 Ext 162.
Police say that a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Brownstown resident Ray E. Rouleau rear-ended a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Effingham resident Gary Phillips. This caused Phillip’s vehicle to rear-end a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Reidd Peterson of Neoga. Phillips sustained injuries in the accident. He was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.
Rouleau was ticketed for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
