High School Boys Basketball
Vandalia defeated Altamont 80-68 Leading the scoring for Vandalia was Barth with 33 points, Mrrison 14, Wells 12, Austin 10, Casey 8, Beall 2 and Lash 2 and leading the way for Altamont was Biggs with 23, Jarhaus with 18, Duckwitz 12, Teasley 11 and Klitzing 4. Altamont won the JV contest 69-57. Altamont drops to 3-2 on the season and Vandalia is now 1-0 on the season.

Effingham defeated St. Anthony 42-23 on Saturday. Scoring for Effingham Carie led the way with 12, Weis 8, Fox 6, Kuhlman 4, Schafer 4, Buscher 4 and Heaboth 4. Scoring for St. Anthony Jones had 7, Gibson 4, McHugh 3, Guy 2, Repking 2 and Richards 2. Effingham is now 6-0 on the season and St. Anthony now falls to 6-2 on the season.

St. Antony took both games against Flora. St.A won the freshman contest 30-29 and in the sophomore contest St. A won 54-13.

7th Grade State Tournament at Paris High School
Altamont picked up a victory in their first game at the 1A State Tournament 41-40 over Bloomington Corpus Christi but fell in their second game of the day 33-28 to Mendon Unity. Altamont will play for 3rd Place on Thursday at 6:00 P.M. against Brimfield.
7th Grade 1A State Tournament at Central A & M Middle School
Mt. Pulaski won 24-20 over Sigel St. Michael to end St. Michael’s season at 18-6.
8th Grade 2A Beecher City Regional
Altamont captured the Beecher City Regional championship by defeating CHBC 40-32. Scoring for Altamont Nelson had 19 points, Osteen 12, Becker 4, Miller 4 and Tedrick had 1. Scoring for CHBC Heckert had 17, Wojcik 9, Summers 2 and Stuckemeyer 2. CHBC finishes the season 20-4.
8th Grade 3A Paris Mayo Regional
Teutopolis captured the Paris Mayo Regional championship by defeating Paris Mayo 26-23.
8th Grade 1A Effingham Sacred Heart Regional
Sigel St. Michael won the Sacred Heart Regional Championship over Dieterich 34-18.
