Murphysboro, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The prosecution in the murder trial of a southern Illinois man has at least one more day to make their case.
The special prosecutor handling Pravin Varughese’s death last week focused on the lies that the suspect, Gaege Bethune, told to police after Varughese was found dead in February of 2014.
Bethune told police he lied about wanting to buy cocaine and driving drunk because he didn’t want to get into trouble.
Prosecutors blame Bethune for Varughese’s death because of a fight they had.
