CUMBERLAND COUNTY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- One person was injured in an accident that occurred on I-70 on Friday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on I-70 eastbound at milepost 112 at 5:32pm.
The report states that a truck pulling a fifth-wheel camper driven by 68 year old, Bruce Mcgaha, of Oak Grove, Louisiana was traveling eastbound on I-70.
Mcgaha and witnesses stated to authorities that a mechanical issue occurred with the truck or the trailer at the time of the accident.
Mcgaha had reported that the truck lost steering and veered right, leaving the roadway.
He then traveled down the embankment into the trees, coming to a rest.
Mcgaha was transported to regional hospital in Terre Haute by Cumberland County EMS.
Charges are pending an investigation.
