CHICAGO, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Supporters of a progressive income tax in Illinois say almost all taxpayers in the state will see a tax cut and the state will see two billion-dollars more at the same time.
The Center for Tax and Budget Accountability yesterday unveiled its two versions of a progressive tax.
The plan would have people making at least 100 thousand-dollars a year pay more in state income taxes, and people making more than 300 thousand-dollars a year pay a lot more.
The CTBA says tax credits would give people a few-hundred-dollar-net tax cut.
Republicans say the plan is based on fuzzy math.
