CHARLESTON, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Yesterday Timothy Clapp, 62, of Oakland was sentenced to 13 years in prison for predatory sexual assault of a child.
Clapp was accused of sexual conduct with 2 girls, however one of the charges was dropped.
According to the Journal-Gazette Time Courier’s, Dave Fopay, “The dismissed charge was aggravated criminal sexual abuse, which alleged the same type of contact but when the other girl was 13 years old.”
Fopay continued reporting if Clapp would have been convicted he could have faced a separate sentence of a maximum of 7 years in prison.
The dismissal came after Clapp’s Attorney generated a plea deal with the Coles County States’ Attorney, Bower, and was approved by Circuit Judge Brien O’Brien.
