Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for our listening area as the snow continues to fall.
According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, the snow will continue over much of central and southeast Illinois, including some rain/snow mix in areas south of I-70, ending at about 1:00am. Low visibility will accompany the snow. Several inches are possible over Central Illinois.
The National Weather Service stated on their website, “Plummeting temperatures will cause icy and snow covered roadways. Additional snowfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches will affect most of east-central and southeast Illinois. There may be a period of light freezing rain or drizzle as the snow ends for a few hours before all the precipitation moves out overnight. Allow yourself extra time to reach your destination this evening and tonight.”
