The City of Effingham Public Works Department will flush fire hydrants beginning on Monday, April 2nd.
According to a post on the Effingham Fire Department’s Facebook page, the Water Division crews will begin the flushing on the north-end of Effingham and will work south to Jefferson Street. They are advising that water may be discolored and encourage all users to check their water before doing laundry. They also encourage users to flush the water in their faucets until discoloration or sedimentation can no longer be seen.
Additionally, flushing of hydrants on the south-end of Effingham will begin on Monday, April 9th, if weather permits.
