Effingham, Ill. – Registration is open for Volunteer Management 201 led by Colleen Stoner and hosted by Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation and Forefront.
This training session covers the recruitment, engagement, evaluation, and celebration of an organization’s volunteer base.
“Volunteers are unique and valuable to most nonprofit organizations, but we often struggle with how to manage volunteers once they have signed up,” explains Joedy Hightower, President/CEO of Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation.
She continues, “Volunteers must be managed differently than paid staff.”
“They are sacrificing their time to your organization, so it’s important to place them in the role that’s the best fit for them, engage with them, evaluate their performance, and above all celebrate their work.”
Volunteer Management 201 will be held on Thursday, April 5 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Dieterich Bank Corporate Center at 300 Sur Woods Drive in Effingham.
The cost of this event is $15 for Forefront members and $25 for non-members. To register, visit https://myforefront.org/events/volunteer-management-201-effingham.
