Two Mattoon residents were arrested for allegedly importing up to a pound of Methamphetamine a month for distribution.
According to a press release from the Mattoon Police Department, the Department partnered with the East Central Illinois Drug Task Force and the Coles County Crisis Team to conduct the arrests. On March 16th, the police forces served a search warrant to 29 year old, Crystal E Cobb, and 29 year old, Daniel T Cook to search their residence in the 1400 block of Wabash Avenue in Mattoon. The press release states, “during the search warrant, police located almost ¾ of a pound of Methamphetamine (Ice) , along with digital scales, drug ledgers, and packaging materials, as well as two handguns, one with a defaced serial number, all inside the couple’s residence. The charge also alleges the pair have been importing up to a pound of Methamphetamine for distribution every month for the past year.”
Cook and Cobb were taken into custody at 7:30pm on March 16th for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Armed Violence, Drug Trafficking, Defacing the ID of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm without a FOID card. They were taken to the Coles County Jail.
