The Brownstown CUSD #201 Board of Education and Board Business Committee are set to meet on Monday.
The Board Business Committee will meet at 6:15pm. During the meeting, the Committee will discuss current faculty/course offerings at the Junior High and High School and options they have moving forward. They will also review the facility use application.
The Brownstown Board of Education will then meet at 7:00pm. During this meeting, the Board will hear reports from the Elementary Principal, Jr/Sr High Principal, and the Superintendent. Following these reports, the Board will go into a closed executive session to discuss “The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity and Collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees.” Once the Board returns to open session, they will discuss and possibly act on nine items of new business. These are the consideration of employment of non-tenured certified staff for the 2018-19 school year, consideration of employment for non-certified staff for the 2018-2019 year, the motion to employ a K-8 Music Teacher for 2018-2019, the motion to employ a 3rd Grade Teacher for 2018-2019, the motion to employ a Kindergarten Teacher for 2018-2019, the motion to employ Lawn Maintenance for 2018, consideration of changes to the District’s facility use policy, and committee reports and discussions.
