Effingham, Ill. (Clark County, Ill. ) – Last night at approximately 7:02 p.m., first responders were called to IL. 1 on Wildrness road; 4 miles north of West Union in Clark County.
At the time of arrival first responders found a vehicle stuck in a steep ditch that was driven by Carleigh Jo Welsh, 24, of Robinson.
According to the preliminary investigation completed by the Illinois State Police District 12 (ISP), Welsh was driving southbound on 1 when her vehicle left the roadway striking a guard rail, and following after stopped in the ditch.
After the accident Welsh was taken to Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson for minor injuries.
Welsh was charged with Improper Lane Usage, DUI-Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
