Effingham, Ill. – Here in Effingham County, Early Voting is still going to continue, however there may be a few issues with the democratic ballot.
The Effingham County Clerk’s Office released a statement regarding the issue with Democratic Candidate, Drury.
The statement is as follows:
” There is currently a challenge in Cook County Circuit Court to Candidate for Attorney General Scott Drury.”
“The court has ruled to remove his name from the ballot, but Mr. Drury has appealed that decision.”
“There is a stay on the decision at this point so he is currently on the ballot.”
“If Mr. Drury loses his appeal his name will be removed from the ballot.”
“If Mr. Drury wins his appeal his name will appear on the ballot.”
The suggestion of the Effingham County Clerk is that you wait to vote when the issue is resolved.
