On Thursday, February 8, 2018, another of historical presentation will be open to the public at the Effingham County Museum in the historic Court House.
At 7:00 P.M., that evening the general manager of Niemerg’s Steakhouse, Jason Sandschafer, will tell the story of the restaurant famous for its great food and great service. He will trace the history of the business since its opening on September 1, 1978, until the present. The story is about a proud tradition in food services carried on by a current staff of over 150 people. It is the story about why during the last thirty-nine years over twenty-four million customers have dined at the local restaurant and have returned many times for coconut cream pie, chicken and noodles, and other made from scratch delicacies.
Mr. Sandschafer is an Effingham native who hold a degree in Business Administration and Human Resources from Illinois State University.
The public is encouraged to attend to learn more about local history. The series, which will continue the second Thursday of each month through March 8, 2018, is sponsored the Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association, Inc., an organization devoted to the preservation of the fascinating history of the county.
