The Teutopolis School Board met on December 18th.
During this meeting, the Board held at student disciplinary hearing and approved the expulsion of a student from the district for two calendar years after the student had committed a violation of school rules that amounted to gross disobedience and misconduct. The Board then approved the first reading of the policy changes, the 2017 Tax Levy with an increase of 8.15%, approved a bus bid with Midwest Transit for a used 2019 65-passenger bus, and approved a new student data management system with Common Goals/Teacher Ease. Also, the Board made personnel moves by approving the resolution of an honorable discharge of educational-support staff, for a one-hour reduction of time for a cook. They also approved to hire Savannah Gebben and Julia Henderson as teacher aides and Glen Kinkelaar as a full-time bus driver. The Board also discussed their plans for the Teutopolis High School building.
A Special Board meeting has been set for January 29th at 6:00pm to discuss all district facilities and the high school building plans.
