The two individuals arrested by the Flora Police Department on Thursday in connection with a West Virginia homicide case will be extradited.
We spoke with Parkersburg, West Virginia Police Chief Joseph Martin on Tuesday. According Chief Martin, the homicide took place last week and the Parkersburg PD had tracked Kenneth McCoy and Jessica Roberts into Kentucky, late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. Martin stated that they had no reason to believe that the two would track this far west, as the knew that McCoy had contacts in the Louisville, Kentucky area. The Parkersburg PD then reached out to the US Marshals and placed McCoy and Roberts on a national crime database to alert law enforcement agencies to the two suspects and the Parkersburg PD’s search for them. After being alerted to the apprehension of McCoy and Roberts, Chief Martin sent two detectives from the case to Illinois the next morning. While in Illinois, the detectives were able to tie up loose ends, and located the murder weapons. Chief Martin then praised the kindness and professionalism of the Flora PD and the Illinois State Police, District 12.
Martin also voiced his thanks to the Flora PD and the Illinois State Police.
