- Jonathan D. Young, 37, of Mattoon Effingham was arrested by Effingham County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear on an original warrant of failure to report change of address. Young is in Jail.

- At the intersection of Jefferson and Maple at 4:14 P.M. a vehicle driven by Katie L. Paddock, 29, Findlay, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Robin L. Kimble, 47, Greenup. No injuries. Paddock was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

Mattoon Police Department
- Mattoon Police arrested Richard J. Connour, 24 of Mattoon, for the offense of Retail Theft. The arrest occurred on 12/18/17 at 12:35pm, in the 4200 block of Dewitt Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges Mr. Connour took items from Rural King in Mattoon, without having ever paid for those items. Mr. Connour was taken to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center.
- Mattoon Police arrested Andre M. Griffin, 31 of Mattoon, for the offense of Criminal Trespass to Residence. The arrest occurred on 12/19/17 at 12:05am, in the 500 block of N. 23rdStreet in Mattoon. The charge alleges Mr. Griffin entered a residence without permission to be there, and did so while having previously been banned from being at that residence. Mr. Griffin was taken to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center.
- Mattoon Police arrested Stephanie L. Golden, 28 of Mattoon, for the offense of Aggravated Battery. The arrest occurred on 12/18/17 at 4:51pm, in the 1800 block of Marshall Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges Ms. Golden first created a disturbance at Hardee’s restaurant in Mattoon by yelling and cursing through the drive up window, due to not being satisfied with her food order. The charge alleges Ms. Golden then spit on the employee through the same drive up window. Ms. Golden was taken to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center.
