Ryland Ward, 5 years old, lost his stepmother and sisters in the Nov. 5 church attack in Sutherland Springs, Texas, wants just one thing for the holidays this year: Christmas cards.
Ward, who was shot five times, remains in recovery at a Texas hospital and is expected to remain there for another six to eight weeks. He still has no idea that his stepmother and sisters were killed. His other sister, Rianna, survived the shooting.
Ward’s grandmother says they still haven’t told him that his mom and sisters were killed in the shooting but he probably has a pretty good idea because they haven’t been to visit him.
Ryland has been receiving a lot of Christmas cards. Ward’s family has said that if folks wanted to include $1 donation in the cards that would be very welcome as they are trying to save up to buy Ryland a go-kart but a Christmas card alone would be terrific.
