The Illinois State Police District 12 recently released the results from Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols. The patrols were held in Effingham and Cumberland Counties in November. District 12 police officers issued 18 written warnings and made 28 arrests/citations during the patrols. The following is the total law enforcement activity that was taken per violation during the Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols.

The Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols were held to keep roads safe by reminding motorists to buckle up. Many know that seat belts save lives but ignore this and endanger themselves and family members by not using proper child safety restraints and seat belts while driving. The Illinois State Police is reminding all motorists to “Click It or Ticket”.
