One person was taken to a St Louis Hospital following an accident that occurred on I-57 southbound in Marion County at 4:46pm on Monday.
According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, a firetruck being driven by 60 year old, Reuben Hubbard, of Townsend, Georgia was traveling southbound on I-57, when the vehicle’s front right steer tire blew out. This caused Hubbard to lose control of the vehicle and swerve off the roadway to the right, traveling through a ditch, and strike a tree head on.
Hubbard was taken from the scene of the accident to St Louis University Hospital for treatment.
