A Decatur man is wanted on an Effingham warrant in connection with vehicle burglaries that occurred in September.
According to a press release from the Effingham Police Department, a warrant was issued for the arrest of 19 year old, Damon L Davis for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Burglary. In Effingham, two vehicles were reported stolen and one vehicle and garage were burglarized in the area of Bliss Park on September 24th.
Following a joint investigation by the Effingham Police Department, Effingham County Sheriff’s Department, Decatur Police Department, and Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Davis was identified as one of the five suspects in the crime spree. The warrant was then issued on Tuesday and a bond was set at $50,000. Davis is currently in the Macon County Jail on a separate, unrelated charge.
Effingham Police Chief Fuesting stated, “I’m extremely pleased with the dedication of our Bureau of Criminal Investigations as well as the other
agencies that worked countless hours together to gather evidence to obtain this warrant. Our investigation continues into this matter, as we seek
additional information that will allow us to pursue warrants for arrests of the remaining suspects and bring justice for the citizens of our community who were affected by this recent criminal activity.”
