Two people were injured in an accident that occurred at 1:56am on Saturday, two miles east of Marshall on I-70 E/B.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, 45 year old, Mohammad Hassnin Suliman, of Iowa City, Iowa was stopped or slowed in a semi in the right lane of I-70 eastbound. At the same time, 56 year old, David Dowdy, of Irving, Illinois was traveling eastbound in a semi and failed to reduce speed, striking the trailer of Suliman’s semi. Both vehicles came to a rest in the ditch and both drivers were transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment.
Suliman was ticketed for violating the minimum speed limit and Dowdy was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
