(Springfield, IL) — Flu season doesn’t begin for another month or so, but Illinois health officials say it’s never too early to get a flu shot. The IllinoisDepartment of Public Health yesterday people should consider getting a flu shot now, because it takes two weeks for the vaccine to work its way into your body. Flu season begins in October, but peaks between December and March. Doctors say there are plenty of places where you can get a flu shot. And they recommend the shot, the CDC says the mist vaccine isn’t effective.
