Sue Glenora Kemmerer, of FLora, IL, departed this life on Saturday, September 9, 2017. She was born November 27, 1921 in Bigheart, Oklahoma, the daughter of Bud G. Barnes and Clara M. Barnes, formerly of Clay City.
She was united in marriage with Roland Ross Kemmerer of Louisville, IL on December 24, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband Roland , her parents, a brother Verl L. Barnes, sister Velda Hall, and brother-in-law Carl Hall.
Survivors include two sons, Roland Ross Kemmerer Jr. and wife Bridget of Pensacola, FL, and Gary Wagner Kemmerer and wife Evelyn of Louisville, IL; four grandchildren, Shannon Kemmerer of Pensacola, FL, Erin and husband Jeff Derin of Tampa, FL, Ryan Wayne Kemmerer of Louisville; great grandchildren, Joshua and Kirstie, Glenn and Tyler Kemmerer; great-great grandchild, Jackson Kemmerer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She graduated from the Clay City Community High School Class of 1940, and attended Sanford Brown University, majoring in business. She later worked for Carroll Bayler, Clay County States Attorney. In 1957, she accepted employment with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, retiring in 1979 after 22 years of services. She was also a member of the New Life Nazarene Church of Camdenton, MO.
Arrangements are entrusted to J.W. Neal Funeral Home of Louisville. Cremation rites will be accorded and a private family graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
