Unlike the first two weeks it was Effingham who scored first and never looked back in the 37-19 win against Mt. Zion. Effingham scored on their first possession when Landon Wolfe threw a touchdown pass to Logan Smith with just over five minutes left in the first quarter. Effingham scored again early in the second quarter with a 4-yard run by Terrence Hill, the extra point was no good so Effingham led 13-0. Mt. Zion scored on a 20-yard touchdown pass to make it 13-7. Effingham would come back with a touchdown pass of their own as Wolfe found Smith again for a 25-yard touchdown. Effingham added another touchdown with 4 seconds left in the first half on a Terrence Hill 15-yard touchdown to make it 20-7 at the half.
Mt. Zion came out in the second half with a big 65-yard touchdown to make it 20-13. Effingham would respond on their next drive with a Terrence Hill 5-yard touchdown to make it 27-13. With just a minute left to go in the third quarter Hill broke off a 53-yard touchdown run, hist 4th of the day. Effingham scored 3 more points on a Danny Hortenstine 20-yard field goal to make it 37-13. Mt. Zion was able to score from 8-yards out late in the fourth to make it 37-19.
