Cumberland was able to defeated Sangamon Valley 44-6 to improve to 2-1 on the season. Cumberland fell behind 6-0 on the first play of the second quarter thanks to a halfback pass by Sangamon Valley. Cumberland however would respond with 44 unanswered points to get the win. Cumberland led 14-6 at the half but 30-6 after three quarters. Cumberland had their running attack on point as Myles Gerhardt had 6 carries for 61 yards including a big 57-yard touchdown. Gabe Hatfill was 9 for 18 for 191 yards and a 28-yard touchdown to Gerhardt. Cumberland will be on the road next week against Martinsville.
