(Carbondale, IL) — The eclipse didn’t disappoint in Carbondale. City leaders say nearly 100 thousand people turned out to watch yesterday’s solar eclipse, and everyone got the view they hoped for. The only complaints came after the eclipse, when thousands of people crowded onto southern Illinois’ roads. At the Blue Sky Vineyard, named by NASA as the best place in america to watch the eclipse, managers say their 35 hundred visitors got a break in the clouds, and the perfect view that they were promised.
