Congressman John Shimkus has announced the kick-off of the 2017 Congressional App Challenge.
The Congressional App Challenge is a coding competition that is accepting submissions from high school students who have created an app for mobile devices, tablets, or computers. The Congressional App Challenge is open to all high school students in the 15th Congressional District of Illinois. The apps submitted by student will be judged on the quality of the idea, creativity, originality, implementation, user experience, design, and demonstration of coding and programming skills. The winner of the Congressional App Challenge in the 15th Congressional District will be featured on www.CongressionalAppChallenge.us and the app will be featured on display in the US Capitol.
Congressman Shimkus stated, “I encourage all students to explore STEM education and enter the challenge. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about coding and computer science through hands-on practice”.
