The Illinois State Police District 12 has recently released the law enforcement activity figures from the month of June. The troopers for District 12 were called 237 times for service and had initiated 1,500 incidents while in the field.
Law enforcement figures show that 756 citations and 837 written warnings were issued during the month of June. Of these, 289 citations were for speeding, as well as 15 DUIs, 136 seat belt citations, and 5 child restraint violations. 206 written warnings were for speeding and 45 criminal arrests were made. The troopers also conducted 328 motor carrier inspections and had investigated 87 crashes. Of these accidents, one was fatal.
During the month of June, 338 of the citations and 292 of the written warnings were violations of the “Fatal Four”. The “Fatal Four” is the four most common causes of fatal vehicular accidents. These are speeding, driving while under the influence, failing to wear a seat belt, and distracted driving.
