- 25 year old, Spencer T. Jones, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on a sentence of 30 days for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
- 27 year old, Dejuan E. Hovis, of St Elmo was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on a sentence of 100 days for criminal damage to property.
- 58 year old, Francis G. Finn, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on a sentence of 10 days for driving while license is revoked.
- 26 year old, Joshua W. Pals, of Sigel was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on a Richland County failure to appear warrant for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Pals posted $375.
- 46 year old, Mary A. Gilley, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham Police Department for possession of a controlled substance.
- 19 year old, Lawon C. Connor, of Little Rock, Arkansas was arrested by the Illinois State Police for driving while license is suspended and a civil charge of possession of cannabis. Connor posted $150.
- 21 year old, Masan B. Riley, of St Elmo was arrested by the Effingham Police Department for possession of a controlled substance, a civil charge of possession of cannabis, and a civil charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

July 13, 2017
- At 7:39am at 1800 S. Raney, a vehicle driven by 26 year old, Larry L.W. Kibler, of Windsor struck a vehicle driven by 26 year old, Taylor A. Polk, of Altamont. No injuries were reported. Kibler was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident.

- At 10:40pm at 1701 W. Evergreen, a semi driven by 64 year old, Raymond C. Schatz, of Terrell, Texas backed into a parked semi owned by TransAm Trucking Co., of Olathe, Kansas. No injuries or citations were reported.

- 25 year old, Brittany N. Highsmith, of Flora was arrested on a Clay County failure to appear warrant for possession of Methamphetamine precursors and manufacture/delivery of cannabis and violation of probation.

- 21 year old, Sydney N. McKnelly, of Flora was arrested on a Clay County failure to appear warrant for driving while license is suspended. McKnelly posted bond and was released.
Crashes
July 17, 2017
- The Clay County Sheriff’s Department received report of an accident that occurred at 10:30am at Casey’s parking lot in Clay City. Apparently Hunter Gray,22, Clay City, was parked in a 2011 Toyota truck and Lucretia Lynk, 49, Flora, operating a 2008 Ford proceeded to back her vehicle from a parking spot and struck the Gray vehicle. Lynk was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Lynk posted bond and was released. No injuries were reported.
All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
