A supersized load will soon move through the local area and will result in traffic impedance and road closures.
The Illinois State Police recently announced that they are assisting the Illinois Department of Transportation to haul a supersized load through the area. It will move through the area during the day from Thursday, July 6th to Saturday, July 8th. The load is 26 feet wide, 306 feet long, and 898,000 pounds. It will take over 26 axles to haul the load. According to the Illinois State Police, the over-sized equipment will begin its travels south of Flora and will head north on US Route 45 to US 50. It will then head north on the Dieterich Blacktop, taking IL Route 33 east to Robinson. Roads may be closed in some sections to ensure a safe route for both those hauling the equipment and all other motorists.
The Illinois State Police is reminding all motorists to look for IDOT message boards for road closures.
